Exploring the bigger achievements AI makes possible.
I’m Sander Knape, a Staff Platform/AI Engineer and the author and editor of 15 leaves. AI is part of my daily work: helping me find answers, work through problems, and write and review code. The more I use it, the more I want to know what other people are managing to do with it.
What are people doing with AI that wasn’t possible before, or would have taken far more time or money? I started this site to understand the real work behind those results, and find inspiration for using AI better myself.
What I look for
I cover achievements in any field where AI made a material contribution. What matters is the significance of the achievement and the part AI played in it. I’m interested in what people have actually accomplished, how they did it, and why it matters. A promising demonstration can be worth covering, but readers should be able to tell how far it is from a result that works in practice.
For each story, I look at the difficult steps, the human and AI contributions, and the limits of the evidence. The aim is to make the achievement understandable, including what remains uncertain.
Sources and explanations
I link to original research so you can follow the evidence yourself. I distinguish demonstrated results from future possibilities and explain unfamiliar ideas in the story or a short accompanying explainer.
I expect to publish a few articles per week. The pace will depend on the research each story needs. Quality and understanding come first: I want to take the time to understand an achievement and explain it well, even when that means publishing less often.
AI assistance and editorial responsibility
I use AI tools to assist with research, drafting, and review. I make the final editorial decisions and take responsibility for what I publish. Each article describes the assistance used. Drafts remain unpublished until I’ve approved them; an AI review does not replace that decision.
